Tuition and fees are due the first day of class.The charges will be posted to your account one week before the start of classes. Financial aid will be posted to student accounts the Thursday night before classes begin.

Payment Options

Pay electronically

The university strongly recommends utilizing an electronic check as it is generally a faster, easier, and no cost to you form of payment. Electronic check and credit card payments will post to the account immediately. Be sure to check your account at that time to ensure the payment was applied. If not, please email Tri-Cities Cashier or call (509) 372-7498. WSU cannot accept payments over the phone.

Note: A 2.5% service fee will be charged for online transactions made with a MasterCard, Discover, Visa, or American Express credit card. Tuition and fee payments will be changed to a dual authorization model: payers will see two transactions post to their credit card; one for the payment of tuition/fees and one for the service fee (statement description will be labeled Official Pymts Svc Fee). The service fee of 2.5% is not refundable while the tuition/fees component would be refundable per authorization of overseeing WSU department/unit.

Pay by check

  • Make check payable to Washington State University. Always include your WSU ID Number on your check.
  • Payments made by in-person delivery will post to your account immediately.
  • Check Types: Personal, Cashier, Money Order, Travelers Check
  • Your canceled check serves as your receipt.

Payments sent through the U.S. Postal Service will be posted to your account the first business day after receipt. Late fees will be applied to your account if payment sent through U.S. Postal Service arrives after the due dates published in the Time Schedule.

Pay by cash

Cash payments must be made by in-person delivery and will post to your account immediately.

You will need to have your WSU ID number for the payment to be properly credited to your account.

Third-party payments

If a company or a government agency is paying tuition on behalf of a student, please direct them to forward the necessary paperwork to:

Payments from outside the United States

WSU has partnered with Flywire to streamline the international payment process. This allows you to pay securely from any country and any bank, typically in your home currency. Go to for more information regarding Flywires services.

Payment Plans

Washington State University is now offering for students. Payment Plans are on a single term basis. You will need to enroll each term. Enrollment does not carryover to the next term.
