Participants will be immersed into the lives of victims in nine different parts of the world. SOLD challenges participants to respond to human trafficking with justice\, mercy and humility. \nPlan to spend about an hour in the experience (and longer if there is a line to get in). \nThis exhibition is being organized and hosted by ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ College of Nursing URL:/event/sold-human-trafficking-experience/ LOCATION:CIC 120/120A ORGANIZER;CN="Kay Olsen":MAILTO:olson7@wsu.edu END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20160406T130000 DTEND;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20160406T140000 DTSTAMP:20260704T112210 CREATED:20151210T222359Z LAST-MODIFIED:20151210T222359Z UID:1579-1459947600-1459951200@tricities.wsu.edu SUMMARY:Career Development Workshop: Me\, My Major\, and My Career DESCRIPTION:As part of the Spring 2016 Career Development Office Workshop Series\, this workshop focuses on researching career paths and how to position yourself to get hired when you graduate. \nWorkshop Times:  Tuesdays at 11:00 a.m. and Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. \nWorkshop Location:  West 247 \nAll workshops are FREE  and open to ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ students only.  No RSVP needed. \nPizza is available to attendees during the workshop. Parker Foundation Lecture - "Irradiated: How does the body respond to low doses?" DESCRIPTION:Lecture from Dr. Antone L. Brooks of the Herbert M. Parker Foundation \nIrradiated: How does the body respond to low doses? \nThe major source of information for estimating radiation risks are the human A-bomb data.  These data provide a large data base on the cancer frequency following a single radiation exposure delivered in less than one second and resulted in a sound estimate of cancer risk. To estimate risk in the low dose region a linear extrapolation from these risk numbers is use.  Since most environmental radiation exposures are to lower doses which are delivered over a long time period the use of this model has been questioned.  To provide data that will help address this question an extensive research program was initiated by the US Department of Energy.  This DOE Low Dose Radiation Research Program to evaluate the response in the low dose region used the best available molecular and cellular responses combined with new technology.   This presentation will provide an overview of the data derived from this program and discuss their implications on risk assessment.  URL:/event/herbert-m-parker-foundation-lecture-irradiated-how-does-the-body-respond-to-low-doses/ LOCATION:East Auditorium\, 2710 Crimson Way\, Richland\, WA\, 99354-1671\, United States ORGANIZER;CN="Ken Fincher":MAILTO:ken.fincher@tricity.wsu.edu END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
