DESCRIPTION:Event Description:\nTitle: Biorefinery Siting in the Western Montana Corridor \nAbstract: Biorefinery siting is a key factor in creating a biofuel that is cost-competitive against traditional petroleum products. This research evaluates existing paper mills and industrial sites for their potential to be retrofit into a biojet fuel biorefinery based on a multi-criteria approach that integrates GIS\, economics\, and supply chain logistics. The research is part of a broader U.S.D.A. grant project to determine the feasibility of converting forest residuals (or slash piles) into biojet fuel to promote energy security within the US and revitalize rural economies in the Pacific Northwest. \nBio – Natalie Martinkus is a licensed Civil Engineer with 11 years of experience. She has worked for private consulting firms and for Yakima County\, mainly focused on stormwater and river modeling. She went back to school to pursue a PhD after the market crash in 2010\, and will graduate this summer with a PhD in Civil Engineering.

SUMMARY:Professional Etiquette Dinner and Networking Reception
DESCRIPTION:Presented by the Career Development Office\, this annual event provides ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ students the opportunity to gain experience in dining etiquette and social skills needed in a professional work environment.  Students will gain real-world exposure to a formal business dining setting with some of the most influential people in the community/industry\, hone their networking skills\, and practice good table manners. \nThe evening begins with a speed networking  reception to provide students with an opportunity to exchange business cards and network with business professionals from each academic discipline hosting tables.  A 4-course formal meal follows with students seated with a business professional and their spouse.  The dinner will consist of a program with two guest speakers. \nStudents will be required to attend the Professional Dining Etiquette Workshop\, pass a short quiz\, and pay $5 to attend the event.  Pre-registration is required (not available at this time). \nProfessional business attire is required. \nThis event open to ÎçÒ¹¾ç³¡ students only. \n  \nThis event is presented by Career Development\, West 140\, (509) 372-7600\, careers@tricity.wsu.edu\, www.tricity.wsu.edu/careerdev
